Welcome to my Substack! Here, I write fiction in the form of short stories, serials, and - to be honest - anything else that inspires me.
Why “The Casual Writer?”
I don’t have an established writing routine. I go through periods where I fixate on a particular scene, a set of characters, or a writing prompt. And then, I can go days or weeks not writing. In other words, I am a casual writer. But my goal is to write as often as possible, and that’s why I created a Substack.
When I started in late 2023, I was going to write reflections about my WIPs. But when I saw a thriving fictional community, I decided to throw my hat in the game. The next thing I knew, I completed a fiction series! In between my first series, I wrote micro fictions and short stories. And now, I’m happy to report that I can’t stop writing.
What to expect in my subscription?
I wish I could promise you a set schedule, but the truth is my personal goal post changes.
For now, you can expect at least one series for the year, with shorter stories sprinkled in between, and random doses of micro fiction. In addition, I occasionally write an essay series called “The _ Writer,” reflecting on writing from my particular perspective.
